My Story

Amy’s Trailer (4:47)

Amy’s Full interview (17:22)

During March of 2020 when the pandemic started & covid hit Chicago shut down as well as other cities & states around the nation. Both my husband Eric and I do live events. I was doing modeling and trade shows & he was producing events through his company AV3 Productions. The kids had to stay home from school & just do their work on their chrome books independently. It was a really stressful time! I had a dental disaster & ended up going to 8 dentist appointments over 2 months. I think I was one of the first patients to come in the office once they reopened.

During that season, I turned to prayer. I started to wake early, pray for our family, for Eric’s business, for work & for our nation. God gave me the idea to do a podcast & to promote charities, ministries & non profits. It’s called Support Someone Saturday. My husband got creative and for about 3 months hired his production guys to do home construction projects for people in our area. Eric learned how to bring his events online, create websites & run virtual events, fundraisers & corporate meetings. I started to write my 40 Day Prayer Journal, Unstuck: Step into the New. I wrote God stories of how me and my family got unstuck over the years and encouraged others to apply the same principals to get unstuck too.

Our kids were out of school for almost a year in Chicagoland. I went to my husband’s warehouse and prayed, worshipped and worked on my book. It gave me a break from home and space to be with God and write. I self published my book in September of 2021. My husband began to do hybrid events (virtual & live) & eventually live events again. During the hardest times, God led us to give more. He led us to donate money to ministries and charities, to bring groceries to the food pantry, to serve together at church and in the community, and to go into Chicago & interview ministries and promote the work they were doing. Instead of focusing on our closed down industries, He led us to focus on others. We gave in faith, and the more we gave, the more joy we gained and the more He gave back to us. It was a time of great change & it birthed my speaking and writing ministry. Looking back we are thankful for how God showed His faithfulness to us in that season & how He is opening new doors since that time.

My Advice

I encourage people to put God first. One of my favorite verses is Matthew 6:33 “Seek first the Kingdom of God & His righteousness and all things will be added to you.” When you are facing great changes and are going through transition, I think it’s important to pray and surrender to His perfect plan. And look around you to others that you can serve, it will bring you great joy and get the focus off your own trials.
